I've begun doing it with a Panasonic LX100. It is not the FZ1000, but very closely related. I like it.

I went on a river walk, shot some footage, looked for a good frame, printed it at 13x19, hung it on my wall and am enjoying a crisp bright picture.

My first real mission is a three week trip to Europe where I plan to build a collection of 10 second video clips for a travelogue. Since I always want a few prints for my wall, I'll capture and print some when I get home.

No, the 8MP Jpegs will not be as good as 20MP RAW shots. So, I'll come home with some of those too.

What do you want to know?

Thanks for your quick reply I was just wondering how good the 8 MP prints would print at 8x10 I have the FZ-100 & the
FZ-200 I thought about the LX-100 but but I need the extra range for wildlife pictures.

Print quality is always a judgement "in the eyes of the beholder". I think 8x10s from 8MP are excellent. The only way you can tell for yourself, it to try it.

I don't know where to download original clips from a FZ1000, but I can provide you with some form the LX100. You can use your software of choice to capture and print a frame. I've used Lightroom, Premier Elements and the free media player called VLC. They all work well.

Itist
I know even a 12 mp will enlarge to an 11x14 with very little grain.

Both the LX100 and FZ100 use Leica branded lenses. I don't know who actually makes them, or where.

Leica brand lenses are way above average I have had three &
all were very good. I'm leaning toward the FZ-1000 because of the 400 zoom & this camera has same processor , the same EVF & LCD all parts from A Panasonic lumix GH4 a $1700
camera body only. that was camera of the year 2 years ago & as far as I know still commands the introductory price. not many cameras can say that.
