I hope you were using an iPhone 6+ or probably 6 too. The photo app on my phone has a Recently Deleted file. Under each photo it tells the number of days until completely deleted. I don't know how many days the app holds the photos but I do remember 30 days under one of them.
That's the reason they are called smart phones when sometimes we are not
Yes, Fergus, my iPhone 5 also has the recently deleted feature. I believe if all iPhone users kept up with recent updates, then all iPhone users have this feature in all models. A very useful tip!
Elsiss, I hoped that that was the case but I didn't know for certain so I didn't say it thanks for chiming in.
Burke, thank you very much for chiming in. I didn't know for certain if it was the case for all iPhones that of been kept up-to-date so I didn't say that. I hope the person gets the problem figured out.

Back up, as someone else said, is critical in situations like this.

SS, You should have had a back-up...
Be very careful on having a back-up.. This theory got my wife deleted and I was never able to un-delete her.
Note; The laundry is still accumulating and I have been hungry for two years.

Yep no doubt your life is ruined alright. I suggest becoming a monk, joining the French Foreign Legion or maybe a hermit but for sure not suicide. The reason is simple. To be or not to be is the question? I don't think so. Being in the first place was not your option, so don't be too sure that not being is either.

Life is not ruined unless they were photos that exonerated you from a crime that was committed or some other legal action that they will make a life altering difference. Otherwise photos are just photos and nothing else. No value except what some sucker will pay for them.

As others have said, try a recovery program on your phone's memory chip. It probably is your only hope unless you have stored it elsewhere.
