Adorable photo!
The owls at a nearby state park did not nest in the tree right beside the road, like they did last year. Maybe tired of all the attention?
Thank you Linda. There is a active GHO nest at the entrance to Pueblo state park with two owlets. Someone sent a photo of the nest showing the parent and one owlet (similar to one I posted earlier) to our local weekly paper. They posted the photo and the location. It drew lots of attention, so much people were directly under the tree. One of the owlet's fell out of the nest trying to look down at these people. The owlet was picked-up by wildlife officials and taken to a rehabilitation center. There is now yellow police tape surrounding this nest. Getting to close to a nest puts great stress on these animals.
