Fuji X-T1 Question

I purchased a Fujifilm X-T1 approximatel 2 weeks ago and I find that it tends to underexpose photos. I find this is true for both raw and JPG of the same subject. I was wondering is others using the X-T1 or other Fujifilm cameras are finding the same thing.

I have this camera, as well as an X100s, and don't find this to be an issue at all.

How are you metering?

Be aware of the exposure dial up top on the right... It's easy to bump/ move. Make sure it's on zero.

I have one and no problem once i learned how a mirror less camera works. Until then i wasn't happy but once i learned it became fantastic

If you think the OP is doing things the wrong way, you should provide a solution too (since you suggesting it)!

He could be trying to identify that mirrorless cameras rely on contrast detection in order to lock focus sometimes. But the fact that he was multi metering, I doubt that would have caused a problem. I agree with lukan, it could be that the exposure comp was accidentally bumped.

Can't post image - I corrected the exposure in Capture 1.

Next time it happens, post the uncorrected image.

It appears that Fuji with the X-T1 does deliberately underexpose its RAW files as per the following article:

This makes me feel a lot better.

I have had various Fuji X cams for the past 3-4 years. There is a learning curve to settings and post processing. I recommend joining the Fuji Forum and spending time to learn all the nuances.....you will be well rewarded.
