What are the characteristics of or how do you recognize a low political information person or v**er? Exacty what can you do to help a low political information person become self motivated to become an informed v**er?

A good first step would be to recognize that merely because someone disagrees with your politics doesn't mean that they are uninformed or ill-informed, or r****ded, or evil. They might be able to inform YOU! In any case holding a different opinion doesn't automatically mean un-informed, contrary to the apparent stance of many on UHH. A little civility and politeness works far better than insults to change another's opinions. The old adage about flies and honey and vinegar still holds true.

I agree with all you said but you did not eliminate the possibility of the existence of both good and evil. If people can recognize the difference between the two, do they not have an obligation to promote good and fight evil. This is a two way street and I do much more listening and reading than talking and commenting whether person to person or on the internet. I do consider my second question to be much more important than my first question.

Hang in there, Bill! I don't have time to reply, but I'll try to later today. Meanwhile, just wait till some of our resident whack-jobs from either end of the spectrum notice a sane exchange and decide to liven things up! :)

It's my belief that you can't recognize a "low information v**er" without first knowing something about civics and the constitution and how laws are made. What branch of government does what and how representatives are elected. Otherwise you're just beating your head against a wall! As far the second question, I think it needs to start in high school teaching kids about the constitution and making them take a civics class in order to graduate.

(post revisited 5/23/15).... I agree. Basically what you are saying that it may be difficult for a low information v**er to recognize another low information v**er. I also believe that it is likely that a low information v**er may not know or care that they are low information v**ers especially if they are living happy, contented and fulfulled lives (All of this probably applies to the larger group of "low information people" too.) In other words, you don't know what you don't know and you may or may not recognize that you need to know some of the information that you don't know.

SIDEBAR: Imagine a world in which a whole large group of people all had exactly the same experiences, memory content and thoughts (or at least as close to that as humanly possible). What subsets, if any, of the human race does this description fit?

That would be great, however, most members of the NEA really aren't keen on teaching our children how government runs, never mind studying the Constitution. That would defeat their underlying purpose of relying on v**er ignorance to v**e for the party that promises ice cream.
