Thanks Sonny.
This 11" is a sail when the wind blows. I kept trying to guess when to trip the shutter based on the wind sound in the trees.
And this was with a single planet alignment to get things rolling. I'm hoping the wind goes away and takes the clouds with it for a bit.

Thanks for the thumbs up. Cool and windy when I was shooting last night so you had the right idea.

Wind Speed 18 mph (SW)
Max Wind Speed 33 mph
Max Gust Speed 43 mph

This is from the Weather Underground station near my house.
I was seeing a bit less more like 12 with gust to 20.
It really had things hopping at times.
Some of my Orion shots are quite interesting at 50 second exposure.

I think you can probably get better pictures if you try stacking your images. Those look similar to what I can get with worse telescope equipment.

Have you tried BackyardEOS yet? It makes capturing multiple images relatively. If you could stack many 30s subs with your scope I think you would see AMAZING images ((I can only manage 2-10 second images). Also, if you take video of Jupiter and stack the frames you can get amazing pictures too. I stack deeps space objects with DSS and planets with Autostakkert (the beta/alpha version) but many people use Registax for planets too. In any case, BackyardEOS (free to try) will give you the images needed for those programs.

Great shots! keep it up! :-)

For all that Magnification Jupiter turned out really well.

You are the first to recommend BackyardEOS. I'll look into that. I have tried stacking and frankly I have not had great luck getting that figured out. I have tried several tutorials and either I am challenged or I am not producing the singles that I need to produce to get good results.
I keep trying however and will eventually get it right.
Thanks for new software tip.

Wind was the big issue last night but I wanted to try the large scope on the VX mount. I'm encouraged by the results.
;)

A note to all Nikon and other users, BackyardEOS is a Canon program.

For the Orion shot I do see the windage problem in the Stars.
But overall the OTA mirrors seems to be dialed in.
I get my mount today and it's total overcast. :(
