Here is a three image composite created in Photo Shop. I am be no means an expert, but it sure is fun trying to put something like this together. The barn and sky is the background image. I added the horse and moon. I kept the moon overly large so it would stand out behind the horse. Any thoughts?
The moon looks like it is in front of the horse not behind it! Otherwise interesting composition
Quite effective.
Good work.

It looks awesome but I agree the moon is a little out of place. I really mean a little; work with it some and see if you can make it more complementary. Otherwise it is really cool.

I think this is a good attempt. I find the white on the horse's hind quarters quite distracting even though it is probably real. I personally would tone the white down by burning or darkening with a curves layer (one possibility). Might be able to use the patch tool and/or the Clone Stamp Tool.
I also find the brightness on the top of horse's head by the ear and on it's nose/snout as well as the rump distracting as well, and unreal based on the moon and the amount of light the moon would emit.
Merely my thoughts and what struck me when I looked at your composite.
Tom
To say nothing of the moon being in front of the clouds. . .

I would have put the moon a bit more behind the clouds and toned it and the horse down a little bit more, but I love the photo very nice

Great composite. If I were doing it, I would have put the moon up higher, in that space above the horse and the barn.
I like the picture but the moon is distracting and looks like it was put there. I would take the moon out and along with it the glow around the horses head
I love the background photo!
I think the moon would look better higher in the sky and maybe to the left, in the fairly empty sky.
I think the horse could be toned down a bit, to match the darker mood of the background.
Composites can be lots of fun, when they aren't driving you nuts!

I remember the moon being much larger in the sky than the little dot I now see . . . NOT nearly as large as your moon but your photo brought back pleasant memories of my childhood.
Oh, and the moon should be behind the clouds . . .
