Very interesting, but the problem with electric cars is that there is no V8 exhaust note, whether it be a low rumble, or an ear piercing crackle. That's why we love V8s, right? :-) :-)

That car is freaking amazing! But I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it if a short would happen in the electrical system. High amps and volts happening there!

will

  Yup. But I guess they could always install some kinda amplified power system that could play sound from a CD or whatever.

You beat me to it. Some of these ghetto blasters should do the job. Record the sound of a fuel dragster. That would get some attention.

Sure would hate to be in the area if it were involved in an accident. Maximum fire.

The new BMW hybrid plays the sound of a roaring V8 through the cars sound system when you step on the "Loud Pedal". The car has an electric motor driving the front wheels and the same motor they use for the Mini driving the rear wheels. The twin power plants produce nearly 800HP and can reach 180mph. When they tested it with a focus group, nobody liked it until they added the "fake" sound feature.

That is amazing! An electric car that will do that.
Thank you for sharing that.
