Trying to get artsy with my guitar without playing it.
Very creative. I like those who "think outside the box." They are responsible for progress in the world!
Different and interesting...

Interesting shot !
Thanks spudkota and Leicaflex. My intention was to use as shallow DOF as possible by opening up the lens at f1.8. I focused on the pickup of the guitar. You can see where the focal plane is where the strings are the narrower over the pickup. As a result the bokeh had a certain effect on the strings. I didn't know the it was going to look that way at the top. I guess I got lucky. I was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks, Dewman. I really wasn't thinking outside of the box, only very shallow DOF to get the blurred effect on the strings. I have to admit part of it was luck the way it turned out. The merging of the of the strings at the top was the result of the bokeh that I didn't really expect.

Thanks for looking, nanaval. The strings weren't moving. It was just the result of the bokeh from the lens being wide open.

I used to play and sing in several bands and play regionally.... until I decided to run my left hand through a table saw. Now, I have an idea of what I cold do with my guitars to feel artsy fartsy again. :-)
Very cool. I don't think I've seen this before.
Have you seen the photos where someone strums the strings with a VERY low shutter speed, and the strings look bent from the vibrations? I've been thinking of trying that as well. Not sure how it was done exactly (flash, etc) , but it looked cool.

Thanks, bkyser.
Sorry about your left hand. I'd be devastated if that happened to me.
I haven't seen the photos where the strings are moving. There's an idea. I'll have to try that.
excellent display of DoF.
