The opening post was not my words, besides they are not words of hatred or intolerance. It is explaining the t***h about the hatred and intolerance of LIberals against Christians. My so-called religious leader does not tell me or anyone else what to do or how to live. That is not their job. I helped v**e them in and I can v**e them out.
I don't know what kind of religion you think we practice here in the U.S. but we still live by the Constitution and believe in individual rights. We are not forced into our religion nor does our religion control us. I attend my church by choice. If my pastor ask me to do something wrong or illegal, he would be looking for another church.

The problem lies in the very article itself. it says:

If thats what author means by "liberal", OK with me. But it is a mislabeling of the term when used in a political context, and is not intended by the author himself. So when people like Rac use the term in this forum, they do it in a thoughtless and lazy way and it is unnecessarily provocative and offers nothing but insult to people who consider themselves politically and socially liberal and at the same time, devout followers of Christianity.
When you consider some of the policy implications of Republicans and conservatives, especially in contrast of Christian teachings on forgiveness, inclusion, care for the poor, etc., one might wonder why do conservatives h**e Christ? this illogic can swing both ways.
Mixing politics with religion is dangerous, which is something that homo sapiens have demonstrated time and time again throughout our history.
