I dug up a Moon photo that I took last year and did some additional post processing on it... I know that some will say that it is over processed but what the hey!!! But it is pretty good coming from a camera lens and not from a telescope... IMO... Previously Posted...

Date Time Original=2014:11:02 20:04:02
Tripod with Gimbal Head; RF Remote Shutter release
2x Vivitar Hood Focuser; Aim Red Dot Reflex Sight

Thanks guts... much appreciated but no scope... I used the Tamron 150-600mm camera lens with two Kenko Pro TCs piggybacked together...

Thank Dave... much appreciated... it was one of my better Moon shots and assisted with a good clear night, several shots (60-70) over an hour span of shooting which this was the best one, and some good post processing program(s) and a little hand retouching...

That's pretty interesting you shot f/13 and ISO 1600.
Really nice work Bruce.

Just a head's up on the EXIF info below... I don't think the info is accurate on the f/stop EXIF due to the two Kenko Pros TCs being piggybacked together... the Tamron 150-600mm at 600mm is f/6.3... with a 1.4x TC it reduces it by 1 f/stop to f/9... adding a 2.0x TC should reduce it by an additional 2 f/stops (3 f/stops all together) changing it from f/9 to f/18 so the output reading from the 2 TCs piggybacked together showing f/13 is most likely in error and off by 1 full stop... I used a f/stop table for the calculation and starting at f/6.3 which is located in the 1/3 increment f/stop table, and came up with f/18 from the table...

Added Info...
From the f/stop info in the chart above, it appears that the info from the 2X TC is being transmitted and the 1.4x TC info is not being transmitted... this error in the EXIF reporting is probably due to the two TCs being piggybacked together... although I didn't mention it above, the focal length in the EXIF info shows 1200mm from the 2X TC but does not caculate the 1.4x TC into the EXIF calculation... the info from the 1.4x TC is being lost in the EXIF info. The actual optical effect from the 1.4x TC is real and is a cumulative part of the final magnified output of 3.4x... therefore, the EXIF info should indicate that the actual f/stop is f/18, and the focal length to be 1,680mm before calculating the 1.6x cropped sensor factor which would provide a final focal length result of 2,688mm!

In the Added Info there is a typo in the 3.4x... it it should read 2.8x... 2 times 1.4 (both TCs) = 2.8x... the total focal length is correct unless I overlooked something...

1.4 x 2.0 x 600 = 1,680mm... them add the sensor crop factor... 2,680 x 1.6 = 2,688mm.... not counting any print factor...

Hi Brian,
Yes that is a "Aim Red Dot Reflx Sight"... it is a weapon aim sight that can also be adapted for a camera and used for birds in flight, sports photography, and astrophotography... it makes it much easier to sight on and track the Moon or other celestial objects.

My goodness - it doesn't not get any better than this shot. I was dialing up Orion while watching the moon last night and was tempted to see if I could get a focused - detailed shot of the moon. I gotta try this! AWESOME!
