How many of them shoot themselves or someone else by accident every year?

Three.
And two of them still managed to take out a bad guy with the ricochet...

Don't worry nakkh...California's record of 32 consecutive Darwin Award winners is still safe
As long as we can nudge out Florida, I'm happy. ;-)

You are evading the issue. There are one helluva lot less people k**led by the accidental use (deliberate acts are NOT the issue here) of firearms, than by cars. By your figures, even INCLUDING deliberate acts, the car is more lethal.

Quote your source(s)
I'm looking at the CDC records for 2013 and they show that 21,175 of the gun deaths were suicides and 11,208 were homicides. I doubt that automobiles are the instrument of choice for suicides. Your data is meaningless without more information.

Meaningless data comes from a meaningless source.

Reviewing another of the CDC tables we see that for 2009 and 2010 respectively, suicides were 36,909 and 38,364 or an increase of 1,455 people. Your data for gun deaths shows an increase of about 330 people for that same time period. It's not unreasonable to think the increase that you are seeing is due to more people taking their own lives. You can go look it up but the data in front of us suggests that about 2/3's of the people that opt for suicide use a gun to do it.
If you are truly interested in saving lives then try helping those that are at suicide risk....or lousy drivers.
