nice picture if you would have looked a bit to the left there was a bright star. That was Venus. You could have gotten them both

Yes I do love that camera. You can get amazing photos with it if you make an effort to read the manual thoroughly and follow through on it. I've been shooting over 75 years ,with many cameras, over 20, starting with Kodak Brownies to Canon SLRs and have to say, it's the one camera that I have enjoyed the most!

I do have a few pics of them together, however if I may correct you, it was the planet Jupiter nearby! Thanks for looking and commenting. DL

I'm glad you enjoyed it and that I inspired you. I've also been obsessed with the moon since childhood, a loooong time ago. Already taken a few thousand pics with the SX50. Keep working on your technique, try all possible combos of shutter speed, ISO and r-stops, breath correctly for steadiness, and shoot away. If you shoot enough pictures, you're bound to have some keepers! The laws of probability! LOL
