It was such a beautiful day here today that my wife and I took a short drive up to the Matanzas Inlet to the Atlantic ocean. I managed to capture a few decent shots of folks enjoying the day.

What beautiful set Howard. I've been to the park, the fort and the inlet. What an amazing area! You captured it well with this series. Is the Great Horned Owl still nesting near the parking lot? When I saw it, it was the third year they came back to nest. They really had the area roped off and it was hard to get close for a shot. Have a great day!

I did not even know about a Great Horned Owl being there! I will try and get back in a couple of weeks, and see if it is still there.

Now that was two years ago and it was the third year that it had returned to nest. Our friends had seen it the first year so they took us up two years after that and he asked the ranger if it had come back and she was very hesitant about telling us if it was there. After the tour of the fort she said they had just finished fencing off the area where the nest was and she showed it to us. They were very protective of it as you can well imagine.
