The D70s was the first Nikon that shutter counts could be down loaded from. The D100 can't be done. Just a bit of information I accidentally came upon.

Take a picture with your D70s. Transfer it to your computer. Upload the picture to
http://www.camerashuttercount.com and it will give you the shutter count for your camera. They do not store the picture... they just extract the shutter count info and tell you what it is.
I have a D70s and just up graded to the D7100. I just kept mine because they are not werth much and it is nice to have a extra camera body.

You will honestly be lucky to get $100. I would keep it for when you are in less than ideal conditions. Never hurts to have a spare body for those times when you will be in dusty or damp conditions. I had to shoot a wedding proposal (paparazzi style) in a downpour. That was the perfect time to use my old D-70 (and an old kit lens)
Recently sold my D70 locally on Craig's list for $80 here in Kansas City. Cash, no shipping. Also no battery or memory. I sold my old lens on Craig's list too. Sold my memory and batteries on UHH.

Sorry for the loss of your mind.
Ha ha. 😄😃
It is 5 generations old .... D80, D90, D7000, D7100, D7200.
Realistically, it might bring $150 on ebay for someone wanting a backup.
