Last year I posted several times on the hawk family that was living in a eucalyptus tree across the street. The fledglings decided to take up residence in my front patio as it had shade, water and privacy. They eventually moved on and now the newest fledgling is hanging out on a century plant next door. It is fairly young and today I got a good photo of him (her?) and just as I was going to pack up the tripod, one of his parents flew in and landed on the limb with him. Unfortunately, the shot of the two together was somewhat spoiled as they had their tailfeathers toward me so I have just attached the shot of the young one.
Young Hawk
nice capture'Looks like an immature Crested Caracara.d when fully grown
great shot. Lucky you to have them take up residence nearby.

Nice opportunity and very nice execution !
Thanks to everyone for their kind words on the photo of the young hawk. I used a Canon EOS D with a Canon 35-350 mm L lens and a tripod. The hawk was about 80 yards away and 50 -60 feet off the ground. By the way, if you want a good laugh you should see that little EOS M with that big ol' lens on it!
