Sony a6000 Firmware update

I have just updated the firmware on my a6000 and one of the changes I have noticed is that with screen sticking out at 90 degrees you can have the camera resting against your body and the viewfinder doesn't switch on which is great for street photography. This something I had been wanting them to fix

How do you go about getting the update?

That's curious. I updated mine last night and just tested it after reading your post and mine still works as before. If the viewfinder is closer than about 10 inches to my body, the screen blanks out. I wonder if there is a new setting?

Go to the Sony website and click on support and follow the prompts

I don't think so today I just tested it again and it seems that now if I hold it out about an inch from my body with the screen extended the screen stays on.

Thanks for this. I don't know if it will correct my problems with sharpness but my 3-week old camera (to me) still had version 1.0 on it. Last night I upgraded firmware to version 1.2.

Hope I see changes.
