Mark 2 has super fast focusing and 1/8000 sec shutter
is that fast enough?

The 7D (unless you want to spend 4 times as much and go for the 1D MK IV) is *the* choice right now for sports and wildlife action due to it's super fast AF combined with fast frame advance.
The 5D MKII is a great camera, but it's better suited for landscapes, scenics, portraits, weddings, macro, still lifes, and architecture etc.

There is also a 1-Dx out there. It is a full-frame also and does 10 fps. Costs less than the 1-D MIV. But you will have to buy longer lenses as you will lose the magnification factor of the APS-C sensor.

Go to you tube and watch several comparison videos of these two cameras. My take is that the only thing the MKII has is the full size sensor. For action the 7D is far superior with more advanced focusing, 19 point vs 9 point and 8 frames per second vs 3. The only advantage besides being full frame is the ability to shoot at ISOs over 12500 with less noise than the 7D.
YOu do lose the crop factor which may make a difference also when shooting action and sports.
I personally would stay with the 7D, unless you find a reason to need the full frame sensor in your type of photography, or go with the 1Dmkiv.

i have both the 7d and 5dmk2...i would recommend the 7d. the autofocus is way faster. the 5d hunts and hunts and hunts.....i have read that the new 5dmk3 has that fixed now.

I'm going to do the same thing. I own a 7d and plan on getting the 5d Mark 3 later this summer. I will keep the 7d for a second camera.
