The North Rim

The north rim of the Grand canyon, taken on my visit there in May, 2014. The first 2 are from the walk from the parking lot to the visitor center. The third is the view from the visitor center balcony. The last 2 were taken at Point Imperial, the highest point in the Grand Canyon. The distance from where I stood to the Colorado River below is equal to ten times the height of the Washington Monument.

When Nakita Khrushchev was taken on a tour of the Grand Canyon during a visit ti the USA in the 50's, his comment was that "the great peoples of The Soviet Union had learned how to deal with agricultural erosion problems like this decades ago and hoped that the USA could catch up"

Nice shots! I have been to the south rim, and down in the canyon, many times, but have yet to make it to the north rim. Need to get there someday.

nice pictures take out the branch on the left side of the pictures it does not add anything to the pictures and its distracting
