Hummingbird Fever...

Well, I had ben trying an experiment and set my camera to jpeg, lowest quality. I was out the door to run an errand and noticed this hummer I've seen in this small tree by my front porch.

Short story long: quality is not up to the par I've seen on here but it's the moment that counts… I think.

;-)

Thanks, Pam. We've had a mild Winter and I've seen this one throughout the winter.

Wow! What a capture, Allen, and the quality looks good to me. I wasn't even aware that hummers continued to feed their young once they left the nest, so I learned something.

I wasn't either. I kept looking for the nest and then saw the chick in another tree... so it was able to fly….

I think these are wonderful! I have seen the birds, I've seen the nests, but never have I seen one feeding a chick.

Thank you Corolyn & Linda. I was so geeked (as my son says…) that i forgot I was in jpeg (low from an earlier experiment) I think I was a bit lucky

Maybe f/8 would be a skoosh more sharp. Higher resolution JPEG would not effect exposure, just a bit better resolution.
