Nice. Imagine sailing from your house to Turkey on that ship. that's gotta be a long trip.
A Meetup site had similar pictures of trains along the Hudson.
I wouldn't go to Turkey if u paid me

Nice, but the river still looks like it has some sea smoke, warmer air over colder water, but what a change in the river in just a few weeks, ice is about gone.

Nicely done. Did you, by any chance, have a career in the merchant marines or are you just interested in ships and shipping. I never set foot on one of those ships; but if I lived where you do, I think I could develop an interest in the various ships without every having been on one. Just curious.
Truth be known i grew up around many merchant marines. My Uncle who was at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7 and went on to become a Rear Admiral and a Captain for merchant ships for over 40 years. It was always great when he came in and told stories about China trade. When I came home from Korea it was on a Liberty ship 3 weeks. I wanted to join the MM but he discouraged me and I see he knew how it would prevent a family life. Also as A kid in Manhattan i grew up near the peers and war ships would park in the Hudson near where I lived and me giving many opportunities to visit the ships. Also sailed the USCG Eagle for 3 weeks in 99
to GITMO and through the Panama Cannel So I have had exposure to ships all my life. I hope hat explains it
