Hey all, of course, this could be better posted to general chit chat, but you are the ones I communicate with the most.

Just an update, my treatments are going well, my most recent tumor, has shrunk 1cm in the last 2 months.

Often, when I'm unable to respond to a post, it is because I'm out, or recovering for a few days. I appreciate those that step in and keep the conversations going, and on track.

With luck, I hope this means I'll be around a while longer to pester you all in the wedding section!

Great! That is some good news. I just hope the tumors continue to shrink and you will be totally recovered soon.

Great news Bob!!! But it doesn't surprise me. It is just the law of supply and demand. There is way more need for people to capture those special moments like you do than there are photographers that can do that. You are just going to have to stick around for a long time.

Thanks everyone. I keep saying that we have the best group on UHH.

I keep saying, there is way too much trouble left for me to get into, to just give up now.

Some days, I do feel like it isn't worth all the side effects, but most days, I figure it sure beats the heck out of not being around to terrorize people. :-)

That would be great. Easing back into shooting weddings with a very short, reception only (couple married a few months ago, because bride's grandfather was in poor health, and they wanted him to see the wedding)

We'll reenact a few things. It will be good to get my chops back. It is the beginning of May, so I should be back to as close to 100% as I've ever been. *(my 100% is probably closer to others 70%, I'm a bit of a slacker :-) )

I'm enjoying the lull in our schedule right now. I turned down another wedding this morning because we were already booked on the date requested. A few more weeks and we will start the wedding season which runs though the middle of November for us. I've been "slacking" for a few weeks, usually by now I'm doing a 2 mile walk every day working up my stamina ........ when you are our age you've got to in order to make it through a wedding day.

So quit "slacking" go start walking ....... I'm going to start today

I hear you. I use an elliptical machine to keep my "wind"

I have had 4 requests for June 13th. Seems that everyone picked the same day.

I think I'm going to end up with my first "momzilla" in years, though. Been kicking myself every since I booked with her. (first to request it) I had a client for a family shoot on December 23rd for a family shoot that gave me the same "bad feeling" I should have gone with my gut. That lady was ridiculous, to the point that I just cut bait and ran. She expected hours and ours of FREE post processing, and all she wanted was one 16x20 print. She wanted the best shot of each person (8 people) composited into just one big family photo. Problem is, she wanted people that were standing, to be seated in the front row, and could not understand why that would be a problem. Actually threatened me with a bad review because she had heard that I did a lot of PP work for other photographers, and I should "know how" to do that kind of stuff. Was tempted to put girls faces on the men, etc.... just gave her the sitting fee back, and suggested she find another photographer/magician.

I really have the feeling that I'm going to have one of those Moms with the June 13 wedding. I heard from the cake decorator that Momzilla yelled at her for quoting just $600 for 5 sheetcakes, scored into slices, with each slice decorated with IU, a wedding cake, and a grooms cake. WHAT? You may see a post soon that for the first time, I walked away from a booked we4dding. I thought it couldn't happen to me. We'll see.

Wow, people are fascinating. That is why I enjoy being a people photographer. I have only seen the good side of it so far but ever aware that the bridezilla or more likely momzilla is lurking out there ready to destroy my passion for photography. Bob, maybe you should start a thread advising how to read a bad situation that is best turned down.

I don't have a wedding until August. Just getting started and not discovered yet :). I did have a blast doing a prom for special needs kids last Friday. Good practice. A freebie for my niece who is on the staff. Well off to the gym. You guys have motivated me.
