Not sure what the story was with the llama, though the sight did make me stop and back up in the middle of the road :) There was a ranch across the road, so maybe it gets to wander at will?

All with Canon T3i and Canon EF 70-300 mm except the Mallard ducks, which was Canon SX50, shot in raw.

Thanks for viewing!

Herons and Hops. What's not to like? My favorite.

Linda - I really like your natural sense of composition in all of these - particularly the Meadowlark and also the Heron with the trellis. Really enjoyable photos.

Thanks so much! That was another sight that made me back up, though this time I was on a dirt berm. I'd never seen a heron on the poles, but this was next to a drainage ditch which must have had mice, frogs, or itty bitty fish :)

Thank you so much, Doug! Your notice of the compositions, which I did carefully and purposefully, makes me very, very happy :)

Thanks so much, Bob! My favorites too :)

Interesting note about the meadowlark: if I'd had my SX50 with me, I would have likely zoomed much closer and missed the opportunity for an interesting "sense of place" composition.

Thank you very much! That was a back-up moment too, since I'd not seen one among the hops fields before, but at least I was on a gravel berm, not a paved road :)
