I took these shots with a $99.00 Sony P&S I bought for my Grand Daughter ( had to play with it first of course )
Couldn't be easeir , select pano mode, click the shutter and pan your scene. It all happens instantly in-camera.
Won't win any awards but hey she thinks it's pretty cool.

I wonder if any of the big guns can do this.

Comments welcome.

Considering the small amount of effort required they aren't bad at all. There is significant banding and focus problems on number 2. The focus in the water area may be the result of the internal camera app trying to stitch control points and blend.

These are straight out of the camera, a built-in app does all the work and spits out the finished pano. What fun !

William and Gmcase,
thanks for commenting.
While it's not perfect it sure is a slick trick.

The big guns can do it, but not as easy. Have to download to a computer and do some work in a photo program. Its not to difficult.

Thanks for responding Cam1017, I've noticed over the years that it takes a while for the big guns to adapt some cool features originated with the P&S and bridge boxes.
Articulated LCD screen is one good example, and my old Panasonic FZ15 with a Leica 12X zoom that was 2.8 through the entire zoom range.

I noticed that the new Canon MK 5 camera even has full frame HDR in its program. Its a nice feature but at $3500 for the camera body I will wait until it comes out in the smaller c-sensor cameras.

Yep, technology marches on, I suppose auto DOF stacking will be coming down the pike.

My Nikon D3300 has a Easy Panorama mode that I have gotten some really nice panoramas. Mostly I'll do without a tripod.
Does the D3300 qualify as a "Big-gun"?
