PS CS6 vs PS CC

The title looks like a gov't program. Sorry about that. On to my questions. I have PS CS6 on my computer. I just signed up for PS CC and I'm wondering what the difference is, if any. I also have Bridge on my computer and got Bridge CC and added Lightroom with my subscription. I have all the icons on my toolbar and wonder if the PS programs are identical and are Bridge programs identical. And if there is a difference, what is it? Thanks in advance for any help.

Once you start working in it you'll know (sorry, I'm still in CS5 ext.)

Differences are mostly noticeable by advanced users of PS. Here are some:

Smart Sharpen, Perspective Warp, Intelligent Upsampling, Camera Shake Reduction (Image Deblurring), Editable rounded rectangles, Multi-shape and path selection, Camera Raw 8 support, etc.

Of course, many will say that Adobe has an ulterior motive. The old bait and switch. Get folks hooked, then raise the price. While I believe prices will go up in the future, they certain won't double anytime soon. Adobe has over 3.5 million cloud subscribers now despite piracy issues (or maybe because of piracy?). Regardless, as long as more and more users jump on the cloud, there is no reason to pull the rug from under us just yet.

There are no guarantees in life, and this is one of them. So if you are worried about price, then remain in the past where it is safe (or is it?)

I did the same thing (as a trial) and it knocked out my CS6 from being primary "edit in" from other software and my paid for version of LR5 was no longer pointing to CS6 but to PSCC. Installing CC did exactly opposite of what Adobe said it wouldn't do... which was they will reside separately and either can be run without problems. My solution was to uninstall all of CC. At least till I figure how to keep both with out interference. Perhaps a new partition on my drive. I need to preserve older versions to stay with some clients I work with that refuse to upgrade. If I do edits in CC and the older versions don't support newer technology, I'm screwed as far as my client go.

That's a shame Doug. In some respects I feel your pain. I work in a high tech chip factory that still has computers running MSDOS. It's more expensive to upgrade than to leave them alone.

Regarding Photoshop CC... I also had CS6 installed when I installed CC, and both remained separate. Not sure why yours doesn't work. I've heard this from others as well.

From my own experience, once you start using a new version of a software, it is very difficult the go back to the game previous version. One feature that CS 6 has that has been eliminated in CC is the Oil Paint filter.
Both programs should be able to exist on your computer as they do on mine.

Thanks for the responses. I have 5 programs that I can run independently, PSCS6, PS CC, Bridge CS6 and Bridge CC along with LR5. My biggest question, does PS CC have more upgrades than the PS CS6? Is the PS CC just an upgraded version therefore rendering my PS CS 6 "outdated"? And is there a difference in the 2 Bridge programs?

Maybe I miss spoke, They remain separate, PS & CC that is, in separate directories...just that if I try to edit something in for example) LR5 (pre CC version) it used to point to PS6, after installing CC it only lists PS CC. I could no longer access CS6 from my paid version of LR5...I can go straight to PS6, then navigate to file I wanted to originally open FROM LR5. LR5 CC over wrote my version of LR5....I had to reinstall my copy of LR5, then they both worked...however, every time I would select my LR5 Icon, LR5 CC would try and open, I'd have to cancel that operation go into programs and start it from there, (yes it was the correct LR5 Icon for my program). I just built a new computer and just finished it's initial system backups, I'm ready to start installing programs, maybe I'll try installing CC 1st then CS6...I need both running.
