Will my new memory card work with my camera?

Saw this on Yahoo.News and thought it might be of interest.

(lead paragraph)...
Last week, SanDisk, which produces memory cards for cameras, camcorders, smartphones, and other mobile devices for storing images and video, announced that one of its latest microSD SDXC memory cards would ship with 200GB of capacity. At $400, it’s a pricey card, but for people who shoots thousands of photos or capture hours and hours of video, it could make sense.

I don't know that I'd want to invest $400 in a single SD Card. What happens if you're out in the field, you take 250 shots on that one card, and the card fails? Of course SanDisk will replace the card, but what about the images you lost?
I'd rather have several high quality 32 or 64 GB SD cards in case one goes.
But, that's only my opinion.

My thoughts are the same.

Mine too. (Also, some cameras can't handle over-sized cards.)
I have a 4Gb for experimenting, (5) 8's, and (2) 16's. I would not put a weeks' vacation photos on one card. When traveling, I transfer each card to the laptop daily, leaving the images on the card(s), and transfer to the desk-top when I get home. Then after Carbonite has backed them up, I remove them from the cards. Multiple backups with one off-site in case Murphy gets really nasty.

Whether or not it will "WORK" with your camera cannot be answered here as you have not included what camera you are using. First, that camera would have to be compatible with the SDXC format cards, and not just the SDHC cards. If your camera is indeed SDXC compatible, then the new High Capacity offerings should work in it.

Thank you for the response but I cut and pasted that heading from the Yahoo News article. I'm like the other responders in that I don't do anything that would justify that much card. I just posted as an item of interest. Sorry for the misleading title.

I agree as well.
Check to see if your camera supports a card that size. Some have limits.

You are correct. These new high capacity cards are designed for capturing 4K (and higher) video. It doesn't take long to fill up the space.
