D80 Mystery

Out of the blue my Nikon D80 has quit working. One minute it was fine and the next minute when I turned it on it doesn't work.

I get a flashing F EE on the status LCD and nothing I do to remedy the problem doesn't work.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm completely stumped!

Have you got a "D" type lens mounted with the aperture in any position besides the highest number??

You must be using a lens with aperture settings, usually an old lens. Always set the aperture to the highest number such as 22 and lock it in that position. The highest number is printed in red. If you use the lower numbers such as 16, 11, 8, etc, your camera will not work and FEE will come out. To adjust your aperture, use the command dial of your D80... "G" lenses do not have aperture settings and you will not encounter the FEE problem.
