Taking more pictures of flowers

It seems like my wife is getting her share of flowers as of late. I took a few pictures today. What do you think? And please tell me what you would have done to make them more beautiful than they are. She loves them but I am sure there will be good and bad remarks from some of you. This is one of the ways I will learn by trial and error.

Thank you 14Kphotog.....

I was a little concerned about the shots as I have been playing with such for a few weeks or so. I may be onto something here with the lace.

All are nice. How about turning the camera to vertical? Let the vase show. I see you have blinds in the back, I would close those to stop the pattern of lines.

Thanks Erv...This is exactly what I want to hear. Some say, from other pictures that you should take closer shots. Some say just the flowers and others say show the vase. All are good suggestions. And I want to thank you for responding. I guess any picture will interest others by what they think would be the best of angles. One of the best, I thnk of suggestions was for me to use the lace. I had forgotten about the blinds with the light showing through. Good tip!

Hi Buddy, it is in the eye of the shooter. I consider a close up of flowers to be one or two in the frame. A bouquet of flowers to be like yours. I don't want any of them cut off on the sides or top, and I like to see what is holding them. Even if you have to back up to get them all in, you can crop later to frame it right, or the way you want it. Your back ground is awesome. You just need to step back and take a few minutes to look at it. It's all in the eyes. :-D And if you turn your camera it will be easier to frame the whole bunch and keep the sides clean. If you go to the FTD site and look at their pictures you can learn a lot. In my younger years I did a lot of catalog Shots for the local stores. And their sales flyers. So I got good at isolating the subjects. You had to with film. No playing in post to get it right:(. Well bent your ear enough. Keep shooting and let us see how you are doing.
