I know lots of people love the Keurig coffee makers. I've tried two, and both broke within the first 3 weeks. So, needless to say, we are back to the old brewed kind.
The are several after market devices that will get past the Keurig system on the 2.0 machine.
I bought an iCoffee machine and like it much better that the Keurig I had. Any K-Cup works, it brews hotter, and you can adjust the cup anywhere from 6 to 12 ounces. I got it at Bed Bat and Beyond, and couldn't be happier with it.
Thanks, we have this issue.................no more!!!!!!!!!
The absolute best coffee comes from a French Press. It is a little more work but YUM!

We had several that suffered pump failures. Then I bought one at Best Buy and paid the $15 for the extended warrantee. When it's pump died after 9 or 10 months I walked it right in to Best Buy and they just had me pick out a new one on the shelf. SO...always get the extended warrantee on these!

Yes, and timed pour over is a close second.
Actually, all the 2.0 machine does is read the ring around official Keurig cups that reads "Keurig Brewed"
Walmart sells a fill-your-own coffee filter for about $12.00. Use a razor knife to cut the top off one of your used Keurig cups and attach it to the top of the 'Walmart' filter with hotmelt or double sided tape. Fill with your choice of coffee. Works like a champ.
If you go to a Keurig's competitor's website, you can get a clip to affix to the new 2.0 that will disable the feature that prohibits competitors coffee pods being used.

What recycling are you talking about? My k cups are 95% biodegradable, so what's the problem? And why are they not hygienic? The cups are disposable, so what's not hygenic?

The machine itself, you can't clean the hidden recesses.
Use 'em once and trash 'em.
