I sat out last year from pretty much everything due to a little fight I had with cancer. I finally went back to work and caught up finically and decided to by myself a new lens. Wanted something big so I broke down a got a Tamron 150-600. Here are some pics from last weekend. most are on a new monopod some hand held. It will take some getting use to but so far I love what this lens can do.

I have battled that beast as well, very pleased to see you posting and out living! You most certainly deserve that lens (I'm trying to convince myself to buy one). Wonderful images, thank you for sharing them and congratulations on getting back out there!  :-D :-D

Thanks It was a long year. If not for my lovely wife I am not sure I'd be here. If you can go ahead and get you one of these lens. I'm not expert but so far I love it, it is a little heavy though, about 4.5 lbs so keep that in mind. One thing I learned is life is too short and too sweet to waste so may as well enjoy it while we can!!!!

Thanks I plan on living it as long as I am able. Every day I wake up breathing is a good day and I plan on not wasting any.
I know what you mean about saving up. It took me awhile also. I think the wife just figured after last year why not let him get one. Went back to work in Oct. a little too soon probably, but Im glad I did now. I consider myself a very lucky guy.
Here are a couple more from last weekend. These are all hand held so not quit in focus but hey show the potential of the lens with a little bit of practice.

Welcome back wannabe! Sorry you had to deal with the cancer but so happy you've come out on this side with such a great attitude. As you said, any day you wake up is a good day regardless of what else may happen :)

Your photos are probably going to cost me some $$$ in the next month or two ... I've been debating about buying the Tamron, everybody who has one seems to like it and the photos I've seen are great ... but your shots are the proverbial straw. Thanks a lot ... I'll find some way to get back at you :):):)
