I am ashamed to be having to ask how to do this as I,m pretty savvy with my Nikon D7100 but I just cannot figure out how to increase the buffer speed by having other things turned off on U1' help Graham

Let me see if I understand. You want to change settings to maximize buffer speed and then save those setting to U1. I've never heard of that being possible. I thought it was more dependent on the memory card.

Jerry, thanks for this information.
Do you or anyone else know what would be the fastest card transfer speed that Nikon 600, 610 (presumably the same answer as for 600?) and 750 can handle? Nikon is very reluctant to give that information, although it would probably be to their benefit if they were less taciturn about that...!

Here's an article, but it refers to upload speed from the USB 2.0 port.

"Note: for transferring images the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port on the camera is limited to 35MB/second speed, if you want to download pictures faster use an external USB 3.0 Card Reader."

Thanks!
No, I meant in terms of maximizing the buffer to card write speeds. I presume that must be related to the speed of the card? To some extent which is determined by the processor etc in a camera model?

This transfer is probably more critical for action photographers to avoid the click, click, click, click PAUSE click, click, click...

HI can clarify ? I,m indeed talking about the CAmERa BUffEr, I REALISE CARD SPEED HELPS A LOT GETTING PHOTOS OFF THE BUFFER AND ONTO THE CARD ( have upgraded cards in both slots ) BUT and THis Is IS MY FAULT FOR NOT SAVING THE LINK WHEN I SAW IT!
A guy was saying he had sped up the buffer by turning off every process not needed for settings on U1.
Am I making any sense? Or gobbly speak ! Graham

That makes sense, and I'll be interested to see if that's possible. I wonder what settings would slow down the buffer action.
