Good Morning three dogs. Im not sure if you were looking for an opinion on your picture but I have taken a chance anyway. I feel it is over saturated so I have just played with it in PS a bit.
As for the technical side I would suggest that unless you wanted a really soft feel then F6 is a short in DOF, about F14 would give you a more sharpness through the shot and on the house.

I really hope I have not offended you with this post,

Geoff

This shot is all about the open area around the structure. Since the top part of the sky is not terribly dramatic and all the same color, I would crop so that there is less area on the right and a bit less sky. This will move your house away from the center and still give you the feeling of wide open spaces. JMHO.

You obviously want to convey solitude and wide open spaces. However, I'd say the building and tree are just a bit too distant. One possibility is to crop off the top and bottom to give a panorama crop. This would give the building and tree more prominence without the scene losing the spacey feel.

Erich and I saw the same thing, so I went ahead and implemented the changes he'd suggested, as well as boosting the texture considerably.

I really like this shot. The only suggestion I have is: The house is to centered. I might have cropped a bit different.

You made a fine photo "Three Dogs". I pass on my improvements. Please consider your composition as a first choice. Try not to show your subject in the center of your photo.

If you are using a zoom lens, shoot your subject at different focal lengths giving you more of a finer choice to promote your image as an outstanding photo. Use stronger focal lenghts giving you more choices to choose.

Study art in museums and books. They will help you greatly. When you aim your camera, think at what you are looking at.

I am giving you my thoughts towards your fine image. I took the liberity of showing you your image, my way of seeing it.

With digital cameras you can make many exposures with out paying for film and processing. Seeing your image is the big deal. It's ones pratice that will make you become better at what you are showing others. Shoot differently than they do. AP
