Any decent lens cleaner? What does your local camera store have? I wouldn't use a window cleaner with ammonia in it, lenses are usually coated.
Whatever you do, NEVER use saliva.

Lens cleaners are not generally recommend for cleaning cameras.

I like the lens/glasses cleaning cloths that 3M manufactures. I never have to use any spray. Maybe I am prejudiced because my best friend works for 3M and gives them to me for free.

I use an old worn out T-shirt, maybe dampen it a bit with water or rubbing alcohol, depending on what I'm wiping off. Micro fiber cloth is also good.

Rubbing alcohol contains mineral oil.

The Zeiss wipes are very good. I use them for my glasses and my lenses now. I don't know what they use that's any different from the general run of wipes but they really do the job.

I use a blower to remove dust/grit followed by the lens wipe. As long as your not touching the surface of the lens, you shouldn't need to use the lens wipe very often.
Be sure you don't use any wet cleaning agent if your lens is hot (as in, out in the New Mexico or Arizona sun). You'll get spots that will be difficult to remove.

The label on the one I use says only 70% isopropyl alcohol and water. I fail to see what difference a minute amount of mineral oil would make, anyway.

I just read my bottle of Rubbing Alcohol, no mention of any oils! You probably have Rubbing Alcohol confused with Fingernail Polish/Paint Remover which is Acetone mixed with Mineral Oil.

Why don't you shop at your nearby camera store? Buy a lens cleaning kit? They will have the necessary wipes and solutions.

I use the Zeiss wipes. Had to buy them on Amazon. Hard to find here.
Why do I use them? 'Cause MT Shooter said so...that's why!
