Last night was all single exposure

Very nice!

How long?

I'm impressed with the tracking of the iOptron. ;)

I used everything from 10 seconds to 90 seconds (ISO 800 F/9). Once I get the polar alignment better, I will start stretching it out to 2-3 minutes

Ok, first night out, lots of lessons learned. This is going to take quite a bit of practice, but with Orion rising early, I should be able to shoot it often. For now, I am going to stay in town, and work out the kinks in the driveway. Overall, I am very satisfied with the iOptron. My lens creeped in from 270 to 143....arrgh

Here is one from tonight. Lots of practice ahead :)

Looking good! I have read the reviews on the iOptron and it looks real nice. I have the drive for an 8 inch reflector, and it is much to big to lug around, especially dragging along a 12V battery to drive it and 22 pounds of counter weights. I find that I can mount camera and lenses to it instead of the reflector scope and that works real good too. The iOptron can travel easily to dark skies.

I want to try doing near IR images now. Was up at Lick observatory recently, and they do all their work now in near IR since it is not subject to light pollution effects from nearby San Jose.

Real nice start Mark. Just remember it will all come together.

Very Sorry for the Repost....
Hi Mark I hope you don't mind me posting an IR shot.
In fact the first IR shot with my newly converted Canon T2i Camera.
IR shot of Orion Nebula.

You should have noticed that light polution was basically a non-issue.

What wavelength filter are you using? And is it a built in or extern filter?

Sorry I do not know the Wavelengths. Imagers can now gain full efficiency at H-Alpha wavelengths.
Newly converted Canon T2i Camera with Internal IR filter.
The original IR cut filter is removed and a Baader Planetarium DSLR-Astro Conversion IR Filter installed.

I looked it up. Its not an IR filter. It passes the full visible spectrum. Plus it extends past the dropout point of the original filter be going to 700nm with a steep dropoff. This covers the H-alpha (656.3 nm). But it is still suseptable to light polution.

Thank you Jim that makes it all clear now as to how it works. And yes there is some light pollution.
