I read your post every word of it actually several times before I responded because I want to make sure I knew exactly what you were saying. The points you made were that people that act like jerks on UHH either some how see the light or they go away. You also made the point even though his comments were rude you thought he made a good point so it was all ok and that I should not have used his name. You also said he should be reprimanded. Did you reprimand him? No! But you took it upon yourself to reprimand me. Hmmm Did I get that straight? You did not reprimand the bully, you actually stood up for him saying he was a good poster. But you did reprimand the person who stood up to the bully.

Well lets just say I am happy to accelerate his reforming or leaving.

Again I will say to you, he published his name and other information on the internet publicly for the world to see. I didnt provide any information that was private. If people dont want their names on the internet they shoudnt put them out there. My final point back to you, it is even worse form for a UHH member to bully a new member who asks a question.

Lastly, if you want to continue this discussion please either PM me or start a new post, to use your words it is bad form to hijack a post in this way. Again my apologies to all for this detour of the post.

First of all, I did not "out him". Simply putting Billyspad in a google search returned his name and a whole lot more information about him. He put his name on the internet for everyone to see. I suggest you google him and you will see he posts the same rude and hateful stuff on a multitude of sites. He is plain and simple a bully. Are you sure you want to defend a bully?
As far as "My suggestion for buying that new camera? Read specifications until you find the one that fits your needs". Did it ever occur to you that maybe a novice wouldn't understand specifications? Do you think that the average person that goes into buy a car understands horsepower and torque? Do you think the average photography novice understands what mega pixals really means? We all know companies market the more mega pixels the better but is that really true in all cases? Could a novice over purchase if they relied on the marketing of big companies? So the OP was doing their research, they came here and asked the community their opinions. It is also possible that the OP had read the specs and now wanted to know what people that actually used the equipment thought. So I personally do not think "My suggestion for buying that new camera? Read specifications until you find the one that fits your needs' is a particularly useful suggestion.
My apologies SteveR, and all the other Hogs reading this post, for Hijacking it with this rant but as a relative newbie also, it is very frustrating when members asking for advice get rude and mean comments. I have said this before, if you dont have something nice to say or valuable to the discussion don't waste your time, pass the post by. SteveR my comments are not meant as terse towards you, far from it. I hope you do not receive them that way, I just do not take kindly to bullies.
