Add to this an adapter plate and you are ready to rock and roll if you don't have clouds. Of course I do now.
This is the first new mount that I have purchased. I look forward to trying different scopes on it.

I tried to buy a 5 GT off Craigslist and got a bit of a run around so I bailed.
I started looking for a similar model and all of the reviews on this mount just glow.
I've posted a few shots with the reflective that came in the package. It's not too bad.

I have a c-11 and its a good mount...but I have had problems with it...now its getting jerky...I keep my scope out on the patio 24/7...with a very good cover....I'd like another mount...

There are packages that have this mount paired with a C11 so it should handle it. Once I get used to the C8 on this I plan to try the C11.

It looks like your counter weight is not screwed in tight......which begs my question. I have the same mount and have had to put a teflon washer between the counter weight hub and mount......otherwise it will bind and in same case lockup. Had to return first mount. Have you had any problems....and/or is that the reason it is not screwed on tight?

That may be two much weight for that mount. The C-11 is a beast...if you add a guide scope, cameras for both guide and SCT you are putting a huge load on that mount. I figure the AVX it is good for 15 lbs and my guess the 11 inch weighs in more than that......

I have come to the conclusion that the AVX is a great EQ mount for viewing considering the price-point.

Every time you post a pic of the New Outfit the closer I get to getting my own.

The AVX is rated at 30 lbs. There is a kit version from Celestron that uses this mount and the 11" SCT. You have to add additional counter weights to achieve balance.

Regarding your earlier question about whether my weight was loose or not. It was not and I only added it so that I counter balance my load for the picture.

I am totally unaware of any kit - where can I find that? With an 11 inch SCT weighing 27 lbs - I can't imagine any counter weight helping those worm gears push and pull without major guide errors. Let me know what you come up with "kit wise."

Interesting - I was initially under the impression that this was a new mount. Just knowing how my mount struggles with the 8 inch, guidescope, optical train and camera ....it is tough to imagine a 11 inch with the same mount performing with nothing more than more counter weights. If you add the 11 - let me know how it guides. Thanks for the link!

So far so good.
I ordered the Polar scope for it today and should have it in time for next weeks new round of clouds.
;)
I'll see what I can do with it this weekend if it stays clear.
I really want to do some shots of Saturn.

The best investment I have made besides the mount is StarSense. This saves soooo much time, 15 minutes from the time you begin your alignment process.... and you are ready to view. I don't bother with the polar scope...polaris is too faint most of the time - plus you have guess where the CP really is once you have locked on to Polaris and I end up breaking my neck trying to view it.........using ASPA and a star in the south below the meridian makes things soooo much easier for me as well.
