refurbished D7100

After much personal debating about which camera to buy as a back up for my D750, I finally decided on a D7100 because their controls are so similar. Didn't want to spend $1000 so again, after much personal debating, I went with a refurbished model that I got from Adorama. I have heard of some people getting a body with 10,000, 15,000, or more actuations on their refub so imagine my surprise when, after checking on two different sites because I just couldn't believe the first one, mine only has 17 actuations. Wow, a new camera for a refurb price. So a question here regarding lenses. This camera will be used primarily for travel, doing mostly scenics, and I want to keep it light with only one, or at the most two lenses. Currently looking at the Nikon 18-200 VR II, but am open to suggestions. I don't need top shelf lenses for this one as I use the Nikon f2.8s on my 750. I just want something that is good for shots to post on facebook or something similar. I don't have much experience with recent cropped frame lenses but I know a lot of you do, so I appreciate your input.

You don't want to use an existing lens?? Got me confused, albeit it's not that difficult.

I want a dedicated APS-C lens. Something that covers a much broader focal range than the full framers I use on the D750. I want to pack lighter on my vacations yet still be able to cover a wide angle to telephoto range without having to lug three large lenses around with me. That's the whole purpose behind getting this camera.

Okay, been a lot of talk lately regarding the 18-200 and the Sig 18-300. Hopefully someone with direct experience will chime in. Good luck!

I use the Sigma 18-300 and have really liked it, it's around $600 and is sharp throughout the range. I also have a Sigma 18-250 that gets a little soft above 200mm, but then again, new they're only $350. Both are lightweight and hardly ever leave my camera. Good walking around lenses.

I have been happy with the 18-200 VR II for a walk about on my D7100, although it does have some softness, especially in corners. However once I learned a bit about finding the right focal point, as well as shooting a bit smaller apertures rather than wide open and so finding its sweet spot, it has produced some fine images. You always have your top shelf ones also, which will certainly work.
