just returned from Oaxaca. i shoot Canon and Fujifilm. I decided on my Canon 60D (70-200mm) and my Fujifilm x100s (38mm + macro). Both were great. i also took my tripod and monopod. never used the tripod. i did use the monopod, but not often. have a great trip.

They are also in Panama! It is very rare for a tourist to get a snake bite in CR. And if you do - CR has a developed health infrastructure, so you would probably be able to get to a clinic with antivenom fairly quickly.

Costa Rica has some hellish-looking spiders. Also try not to become an incubator for the Bot Fly. They look nasty wiggling under your skin. A friend of mind realized he had one in his leg after his return to the US. He had to have minor surgery to get it removed.

It is a vibrant paradise remember Florida and Texas to name a few places has venomous reptiles spiders etc.
