The mac's own screen or the application's screen? If just the application which one?

Try holding the command button and using two fingers on the touch pad to zoom back out. Either from bottom to top, or vice versa.

Using the thumb and two fingers, hold them apart, place them on the touch pad, then "squeeze" them together. This will zoom out the screen. Conversely, the reverse action will zoom it in.

This will not do anything, seeing it is a MacBook Pro, not a pad. :-) If the screen is going to "Full Screen" hitting the ESC button, it should take it back to normal. Either that or by holding the command button and then the "+" or "-" key will zoom the screen in and out. Cheers.

It works doing it that way on my MacBook Pro, using the built-in touch pad.

OS X has a facility to allow zooming with a scroll mouse. I use a Logitech mouse that allows zooming with the scroll wheel by holding down the Control key on a standard keyboard.

OS X has keyboard shortcuts that do the same thing:

Option-Command-8 Turns on Zoom
Option-Command-+ (plus) Zooms In
Option-Command-— (minus) Zooms Out
