I'd go the 18-250mm and it should cover all your needs.

Definitely take the 18-250. You might want to take the 35mm for low light shooting. It doesn't take up much space or add much weight. If you have a good compact camera I'd take that for the times that you don't want to shlep the DSLR.

I always take my 18-250mm on trips with me and end up using it 80% of the time, especially for landscapes.....

Nice thing about compacts or P&S's is that they are all pretty good. They are all just a little different - some a little slower with longer zooms, some with better lenses - no zoom, some with Wifi, waterproof, etc.... Just need to figure out your needs.
Because I'm a wacked out camera junkie - I have 4 P&S's for all different occasions
1. Long Zoom - I like the Canon SX 700. But it sounds like your a Nikon guy - I'm sure the Nikon Coolpix line is totally awesome.
2. Best Lens - Definitely my Sony RX100. Because they are on Mark III now - the original is not a bad price. I like the original better than the MIII.
3. Best for Beaches, gorgeous color!! - Canon D30
4. Best for Waterparks, this camera tolerates being banged up better - Nikon Coolpix A110

- I don't have a Wifi camera - Im not a facebook person so no need.
P&S's do great on Ebay - so if you buy one you hate, you can easily sell it and get something different. So keep your box! Have Fun in Bali
