I have the T2i body at present with the usual 18-55mm and 55-250mm EFS kit lenses. Reasonably happy with my results but looking to concentrate on Landscapes and getting the 6d with 24 -105mm f4 L lens. Opinions on whether this is overkill for what I need. Would I be better to get just the new 24-105 f4L lens and may be a wide angle lens to use with my existing T2i body? Not sure how much improvement in IQ I would see for getting the 6d body. Other option is to get non Canon lenses. Any helpful advice would be welcome before my GAS gets a hold of my wallet.
6d would give a big improvement. If you have the means, get it. Checkout Canonpricewatch.com for the latest 6d deals.
I use the Xsi and a Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 lens as a professional photography of Architectural and Interior work.
I now upgraded to a T5i. Can my clients see the difference. No. It's just larger files to deal with.
I have a T2i and have found it more than adequate for landscapes. I would think getting additional lenses would be a better option, but each to their own.
Check with gregoryd45 re his T2i and the Canon EF 70-300 mm lens.
I have a T3i, and in January I bought a used Canon EF-S 18-135 mm; also purchased a used 70-300 at Gregory's recommendation. I've been very happy :)
Another lens to consider is the Canon EF-S ultrawide 10-18 mm. That's super too.
The 6D will let you shoot in lower light and / or higher ISO. That will be the most obvious difference. I would suggest a 24-105 f4L will have a more obvious difference with your T2i than changing cameras. I see Linda suggested already the well regarded EFS 10-18 to go wider. You might find a way to try either lens on your current camera such as a camera store visit or a rental (lensrentals.com). If you really have a need, the 6D price has come down and is an excellent model but your current lenses can't move to the full frame body.

I think at one level it really comes down to how much you want to spend. The T2i is still a great camera. Many of us use the T3i, which is sort of the same camera with an articulated screen in many regards.
Lenses make a huge difference, especially good quality ones. The "kit lenses" you have deliver decent results. My wife now uses a T2i with those same lenses, I now have the 18-135 STM, EF 70 - 300 IS and the EF-S 10-22, plus a few other things that are not so relevant here.
Moving to full-frame will be expensive now and going forwards. If you have the money, now could be a good time to do that, but think in terms of several thousand dollars.
If your budget is more limited, I would focus on lenses first especially upgrades to your existing two and adding the EF-S 10-18 to your collection. If looking at EF or L lenses, be aware of the field of view differences between full-frame and APS-C (T2i) systems. Not much of an issue for longer lenses, but very significant at the standard or wide end of the spectrum.
From the camera body perspective the soon to be coming Rebel T6i or T6s would be a good upgrade from the T2i - the first significant one in a while, or the 70D or 7DII would probably serve very you well.
If you upgrade the body, you will probably need / want to upgrade your lenses as well.
If you upgrade lenses you can choose wisely now for a potential body upgrade in the future.
If budget is limited I would go for lenses carefully, and Linda's advice and examples a few posts above are good solid guidance.

Agreed. I have a T1i and use a Sigma 18-200 as my walk around lens. As much as I would like a "better" body, I think the T1i is fine, at least for my needs.
Thanks everyone for the quick and helpful responses. What I didn't mention is my budget will have to be approved by "management". Thanks once again but if I get into trouble I will just refer management to your expert replies. Wish me luck.

Good luck. If I had to make one choice that would make the biggest and least expensive difference it would be to add the EF-S 10-18 super wide.
Best
the rebel is a fine camera, but the 6d will make you better,
yes i said that, the camera will make a difference, big upgrade and you will be very happy, how easy it is to get the great shots, the 17-40 l is also a good choice for landscape
Actually I know people that have made this switch and you'll love the results. It isn't over-kill.

Really? Please enlighten us.
I'm not familiar with the T2i body, but the 6D is a full-frame camera and won't use the EF-S lenses you currently have. Unless you want to bite a really large bullet, I'd recommend you stay with the T2i body. As far as lens prices go, I'd highly recommend you consider KEH Camera (
www.keh.com) for used lenses. They usually have a good assortment of lenses in very good to excellent condition for very reasonable prices. You won't get a warranty, but you can return a lens that you find unsatisfactory upon delivery.
