This one needed a B&W treatment. Taken in the county courthouse.

Very nice, especially the black and white.

In this case Walt, I much prefer the color version. To my eyes, the HDR effect on the walls presents a smudged appearance, as does the lighting on the banister. Whereas the color version looks natural, the b&w version appears forced.

Thanks for your input Bob. We all have our own preferences don't we? I achieved the look I was going for.

Walt, you keep posting shots like this is making me late for work because I have to stop and comment. In my opinion this is just too good not to comment. The color image does not do anything for me. One of the reasons is the lights are over exposed and wash out the color in that area. However, the B&W is really nice. I love the tones, details and shadows. It grabs and holds my attention. Well done.

The B&W is a conversion of the color HDR but I prefer it in B&W. The contrast of the highlights vs the dark areas appeal to me more in B&W. Plus I'm sort of a B&W junkie.

Really like this

I wonder if you tone down the lamps (both levels) abit somehow they wouldn't attract my eyes so much. Other I like it.

Very nice!! The HDR takes a color image that is okay but without punch and gives it a super B&W contrast look. Like you, I discover all kinds of things just by seeing what HDR will do for all kinds of shots.

Possibly. That would currently be beyond my ability though. :)
