Orion Nebula

Here's my first real attempt at shooting the Orion Nebula (M42).

As this is a massive learning curve to me some alignment drift is present, so I really need to practice Polaris alignment, drive unit speed.

Nikon D90 at 300mm F6.3 ISO2000 with a 30s exposure.
One light frame & one dark.

Levels, curves & colour adjusted the best I could in CS6 with some helpful youtube video's.

CC, tips more than welcome

If that's your first attempt, you're off to a great start! What are you using for a drive?

That's a good start Marc get your drive settled in and you'll have some great shots.
I'm new to this also and am getting closer every time I shoot.
The Orion Nebula is the best place in my opinion to get started in Deep Space Photography.
