I am in the mist of planning a two week float down the Grand Canyon in June and obviously will want to take some photo gear along with me (a body and perhaps 2-3 lenses. Does anyone have suggestions on waterproof camera bags that can assure me, as we go down the various rapids, my camera gear will remain safe and dry!

Another way to go would be to visit a kayaking/canoeing store and look at the dry containers they have. When I did a rafting trip all our gear was stored in a watertight drum. I took a cheap waterproof camera to use while actually rafting and only got the good gear out when we hit the shore.

I rafted the Grand Canyon years ago during the film days. I used a military ammunition box (50 Cal) for my Nikon 35mm camera. The boxes are water proof and will float. I painted it a bright color in case it over board.
Have fun its a beautiful place to visit and photography. I will be waiting to see your pictures.
PS take a spare swim suits I ripped mine early in the trip, also look out for rattlesnakes we had them in camp 5 times.

Ewa marine or dedicated UW housings (but they are spendy). Better hold on "tiedly" as you go through the rapids, you don't want to loose your gear!

Seal line dry bags come in a multitude of sizes. they'll keep your stuff dry, but no padding. I use them sea kayaking, but wouldn't want to hold them under water for an extended period of time with a camera inside.

they're an absolute must for all sorts of other gear.

I did the same. They're cheap, too. I still have mine in the garage. I didn't raft the Grand Canyon. I took some kids canoeing the Brazos below Lake Whitney.

Well, life insurance is up to you.
But I meant for your equipment. And read the fine print so you know how to word your claim.

"Damaged by a mysterious infiltration of water...."
Is much different than:
"I went rafting down the Grand Canyon and damaged my equipment."
