Really like your shot and process Dennis. Really makes me look into the shadows of the barn.

Super shot. :-)
May I ask what lens you used and what kind of post processing was done to this? I just can't stop looking at it. :-)
Such a beautiful shot, where was that taken? Did you shoot HDR?
It is not an HDR, although I was tempted due to the contrast in the lighter sky. It was, as Snoopy said, "a dark and stormy night." I just made it a tad more dramatic to suit my taste. See my below comments to how I post processed.
The lens used is a Canon 24-105L. The photo is in Cayton Valley, which is north of Burney, CA on Hwy 89. I captured the image at f/8, 125 and ISO 100, hand held. There was a lot of foreground so I cropped the open field tight.
Post processing was started in Adobe Camera Raw. Once I was satisfied I then opened in PS and adjusted the colors in Hue/Sat, and then adjusted the shadows and highlights. From there I went to Nik and applied and adjusted three filters: Tonal Contrast, Graduated Neutral Density and Glamour Glow. Even though glamour glow softens the image quite a bit, I still finish by applying the Smart Sharpen in PS. That's about it.
Thanks so much for the details...and for sharing the image!
Very nice photo. Your post processing is excellent. One's mind can wander all over the place about what kind of history is behind this barn. No need for air conditioning. The breeze blows straight through. It is amazing how some of these old barns remain standing. The outside boards fall off but the main structure remains intact. Keep up the good work, have fun, and have a GREAT DAY!
