This is a composite of two images taken in the snow in the same location on two consecutive days. The robin gave the photo some much needed color. Clean and uncluttered, it has a very Japanese feel to it.

Well it really does, Bob! I love it! It's a beautifully composed image.

Thanks Donna. I'm still awaiting the appearance of your latest cardinal.

I'll post those soon, Bob. You might like another more than the cardinal.

Nice, Bob. I might have positioned the robin in a different spot myself, but this works just fine. Good job.

I toyed with the position Randy, but the black feathers got lost against the shadows. This is distinctly top-heavy, but still works on some basic level.

Thanks Chuck. It seems there are some really intricate designs in the shadows of shrubs when they're cast upon white snow. It holds the edges quite well.

I like the placement of the robin in the frame - gives it a sense of time and space. Nice job, Bob!

Thanks drmarty. I like composites in that they give one a certain amount of control over the composition of an image as a whole - and to add just a bit of color when needed.
