Light pollution at the beach detracts from the scene a bit. We drove over to a beach at 11:30PM when the Aurora started to show. I was surprised when we got to the beach that about 40 other photographers had showed up with the same goal, we had seen only one other group of four photographers up to this point in our trip, I like that the foreground captures some of the photographers with their headlamps on. I was thrilled that I was able to help a young couple adjust their camera settings to record the event and they couldn't thank me enough when they saw the image they captured.
Really, really nice shot.
Also good that you took the time to assist others.

Thanks, I love that I can pass on advice that I learned on the Hog to others.
Stunning image, Joe! I like the inclusion of the other photographers, really makes me feel part of the experience.
Super you were able to help some folks get their dream shots.

Gorgeous scene with all those stars showing also.
Incredible image of a beautiful natural event.
Thank you, helping that couple really made the night special for me.
Nice shot with foreground mountains.
The inclusion of the photographer does add a sense of dimension you typically don't see in aurora photos. It gives your photo that "WOW".

Thank you Linda, too often when doing landscape photography I am striving to get an image with no people in it, I think I learned a lesson here that it can add to the story.

Thanks, the sky was so beautiful that night that I spent as much time looking as I did photographing.
Joe that is one magnificent photo! I, too, like the composition with other photographers included...adds to the excitement of the night. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, I was lucky that the Aurora moved over the mountains when I was there.

Thanks for the "wow", yes, I am going to try to include people in my landscape compositions more often.
