He's probably cranky because he is molting & has no feathers.
Cannot understand a word this bird says but the sound & body language says it all. HILARIOUS--could not stop laughing!!!

He isn't molting. Cockatoos lose feathers continuously. The bald chest/abdomen is a result of plucking. This is an abnormal behavior that most cockatoos display after being in captivity. Birds in the wild don't do this.

Come to think of it, I think you are right. I was raised in the bush & I never saw a wild Cocky with no feathers. I know people with Cockies in cages & all have normal feathers, but no doubt some do pluck, such as Peaches. They shouldn't be in cages anyway IMO. Earl.
