I am having trouble with my Canon 70D video. When I set camera to movie mode, I can only record 4 seconds. The manual and you tube videos do not give me any help. I must be missing some setting. Help please!

If you haven't done so, check the manual that came on the disk with the camera. It's more comprehensive then the paper manual. Are you using a card with the proper speed rating? I have never shot video with any of my Canons but in the back of my mind I seem to remember that certain photo settings will prevent the video from working properly. Wish I could be more help.

Thanks. I am using San Disk 32 GB, extreme pro, 95 MB/s, SD HC 1. I need to try to find that disk.

I had that problem and changed cards and it seemed to resolve. Try a new card and format it in the camera. Let us know if that helps.

You can download the manual for free from Canon:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_70d#BrochuresAndManuals

The main instruction manual is the 4th in the list. It's a 20MB download.
You could also try a different card, as suggested, in case there is a defect in the card you are using.
Hope you get it figured out!

Tried a new card, still no change. I have contacted Canon.

I have a 70D - please let us know what you find out and how the problem is resolved. I don't do much video, but would like to be prepared if I have that problem again!

I resolved the video situation with help of Canon. I reformatted my card, and reset camera functions. Then I removed card, lens, and battery from camera, then reinstalled these items 20 minutes later. Video now works correctly. Thanks for all suggestions!

Wow! Down in Naples from New York state this year and last. Visited Corkscrew Swamp last year. Fascinating. Upgraded to 70D in fall 2014. Had no problem such as you describe videoing at Naples Zoo. Scary. Temperature over freezing only once or twice in the last month. Wish we were back there in Naples. Although it's been cooler than usual there, it sure beats weather here.

Do you plan to visit Corkscrew this year? There have been many photo ops this year. We are giving guided tours each morning at 10:30, tours free with paid admission. I am usually there Sunday and Tuesday, ask for Bob, will take you around.

I was using Tamron 16-300, but changed to Canon lens with same result. Noe that it is fixed the Tamron works.

Had the same issue. SD card was writing to slow. I now use a class 10 . It will be marked on the card.

I had a similar problem. The video would stop recording between 1 and 2 minutes.

I was using a Tamron 28-300. I switched to a Canon lens and haven't had the problem since. I have used several different Canon lenses with no problems.
