I ordered Kenco 1.4 tc yesterday from B&H. I will be using it with the 300 F4L Canon lens. Is any one else tried this paring. I wanted the Canon 1.4III but could not justify the cost. I had tried the Canon tc and got good results. I suppose I can send it back if it does not work out.
it gets good reviews so it should work out ok. you will keep auto focus.

Did you get the "pro" or regular version ? Do you have the IS or non IS lens ?? .......
I have the Kenko Pro 300, 1.4 tele conv , use it with my Nikkor 70-300 and it works very well. Also use it with a Nikkor 55-200, So far I am pleased.

Make sure it is the Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 DGX AF, I have this with my Nikon 300 f4.0 AF-s if D ED prime. great pair! I t maintains all the function and exif data from the camera!
I did not know there was two versions, maybe I should have done more research. I have the non IS lens, I usually shoot with the gimble head any way with that lens. I have had extra good pics with that lens, sharp pictures, even hand held I usually use some kind of support or lean against some thing if possible.

I just got it a few minutes ago and done some test shots. Seem to do the job. It was not the pro model. I used B&H search and the one they showed was not the pro model. What is the difference between the two. I just step out to the garage door and was shooting some houses and stop sign when some geese came over. I did not have time to change to Al Servo or change any thing. Focus might have been a little slow as they were of at distance and fly away from me by the time I could get on them. I done some crops on a stop sign that was about a 1/4 mile away and it was still sharp. All test shots were hand held but leaning on some thing or bracing my self against the door.
